Mould Details

Auto unscrewing moulds are the preferred design for components with an internal thread form, such as plastic caps and closures, and may be based on either a hot or cold runner design. Due to the design requirements, some detailed threads cannot be ejected using traditional bump off methods, however, there are several design methods used to revolve either the core or a sleeve to release the part from the thread. We are more than happy to propose the best method depending on the capabilities of your moulding equipment.

During the design of an auto unscrewing mould close attention will be paid to the choice of steel, hot runner system, water circuits, feed points, venting, split lines and all other technical aspects that will prolong the life of the mould and minimise downtime during maintenance whilst maximising efficiency to achieve the lowest possible cycle time.
