Highlights
- The mould’s ‘stacked’ approach enables the moulder to double productivity per cycle by doubling the number of cavities on the same given machine/tonnage
- Significantly increased output efficiency per machine
- Decreases number of machines required to produce a given volume (reducing machine capital/maintenance)
- Optimise your floor space by reducing the number of machines required to perform the job
- Guaranteed for up to XXXX cycles
Typical Applications
- Medical & pharmaceutical products
- Thin wall applications
- High volume consumer goods such as caps & closures
Mould Details
A stack mould is a series of interconnected single face moulds stacked next one another and each sharing the same dimensions and surface areas in order for the mould to fit within the same tie bar spacing. Although the initial cost of a stack mould can be far higher due to the complexity of the design of the mould, however, these costs are quickly recouped by minimised level of scrap material and reduced cycle time of the mould, twice that of a single face design on a moulding machine with the same locking tonnage. Amtek is very happy to recommend the best system for your customer's product or application.
During the design of a stack mould, close attention will be paid to the choice of steel, hot runner system, water circuits, feed points, venting, split lines and all other technical aspects that will prolong the life of the mould and minimise downtime during maintenance whilst maximising efficiency to achieve the lowest possible cycle time.
